Hand Jobż

This year sees the first public gigs and live rehearsals for a new live art project Hand Jobż the first peformance rehearsal was at the Moorings in Canterbury a sound poetry sound pefromance, improv band with Magz Hall Kat Peddie and Kristin Fredricksson and Emily Peasgood at Freerange at the Moorings Canterbury we have been using the WASP manual as source material for these first ever performances as well as turning the audience into a human circuit, Kirstin made some excellent visuals too #waspsynth#handjobż

HAND JOBŻ is a sonic intervention that reclaims the patch-bay as a site of collective resistance. Rooted in the feminist history of early British synthesis, the group—Magz Hall, Kat Peddie, Kirstin Fredriksson and Emily Peasgood which honours the pioneering spirit of the Radiophonic Workshop and EMS, while pushing their legacy into a raw, improvisational future.

In the polish alphabet, ż makes a hard “zh” sound—similar to the “g” in mirage or the “s” in pleasure. The name is a playful avant-garde, feminist statement about how we use synths today and our current working lives where we work with our hands.
